The Proposal

The Proposal

Eventually, I (Aaron) decided that it was time to pop the question. I took Elizabeth back up to Mountain Lake (one of our earlier trips that we both had fond memories of, and which played a part in us getting together in college). We hiked around the lake, and after having lunch, we wandered around the grounds, and eventually wound up at the gazebo which played a big role in Dirty Dancing. After dancing in the gazebo, I told her that I wanted to let her know exactly how much I loved her. I told her all the ways that she meant so much to me, but said I wasn't sure that I would ever be able to fully explain myself, but that I brought a song with me that I thought would. I put one earbud from my iPod in each of our ears, and began singing "For Good" from Wicked to her along with the music. When it was done, I pulled the ring out of my backpack, got down on one knee, and stammered out 7 words: "Elizabeth Snow Pressman, will you marry me?" She said "Yes, of course!"
